What are the Nutritional Requirements for a pregnant Chihuahua?

We think our Chihuahua might be pregnant, she really is begging for our food, and we were wondering if it had something to do with her pregnancy. What does she need?

It’s best to feed her puppy food because of the extra calories & nutrience that she needs for her growing pups!

Iams & Eukanuba are good as well as Royal Canin…which has a puppy food specifically for toy breeds called Mini.

  2. She needs lots of food with vitamins and calcium. Be very careful with her. My dog died after giving birth and all the puppies followed soon after because we didn’t know everything she needed. Please make sure you get her to a vet when the time comes for the puppies to be born, I wouldn’t wish what happened to my dog on anyone in the world.

  3. Avocado blended with cooked poultry and brown rice. You should avoid feeding a food that contains beef, or beet pulp to this nutritionally delicate breed.

  4. I would put her on a puppy food, as it is higher in calories which she needs if she is pregnant. make sure she has plenty of clean water and daily exercise.
