What are the best spanish schools in Cuernavaca?
i know there are many in Cuernavaca, which ones are the best?
Is the Cuauhnahuac Spanish Institute good?
I’ve been to Encuentros twice and like much more than the larger schools. Usually small class size depending on time of year. Close to downtown, many activities, live with a family or an apartment. Send them an email - very nice people

I’m supposed to go to Cuernavaca in February…..should I go?
I am supposed to go to cuernavaca in February. i was told cuernavaca is very safe, however recently, there was a big shoot out between police and a drug lord in cuernavaca. Is it still safe to go? Should I cancel the trip?
Well, how many similar events happen in American cities every day? How many mall shootings, school shootings, carjackings, drug busts? Marci is right.

why is cuernavaca mexico so dirty now and way to much traffic for the small street?
there are way to many taxis also I want to know which politician got paid off to allow all the mess in such a beautiful city ,will not go back till someone does something what a shame who was the guilty party!
It happens everywhere in Mexico every four or six years, where local administrations changes and politicians take their own share or try to get their own by granting all kind of permissions for the ‘right’ people. A shame, indeed!

Driving from Laredo, TX to Cuernavaca, MX….where would you stop for the night?
What areas/towns are safe and appropriate for us to stop in. I know Monterrey has a lot of hotels, but we would like to get further than that on the first day, if possible.
Any recommendations?
I would stop in San Luis Potosi, which is just about at the halfway point.
SLP is large enough to have lots of hotels, restaurants, and interesting sites to keep you busy, but it’s small enough to be non-intimidating and easy to navigate.
There are some outstanding restaurants along V.Carranza — places with colonial atmosphere, top-notch service, affordable and best of all…DELICIOUS!
There’s some great colonial era churches downtown, and if you’re into modern art, I *highly* recommend the Museo Federico Silva — it’s a beauty!

What do I need to know about Cuernavaca, Morelos?
My best friend and I are going down to Mexico this summer for a month. We are staying with her aunt and uncle in Cuernavaca. I was wondering what I needed to bring, where are good places to go, things to do, etc, for two sixteen year olds in Mexico. We can speak a little Spanish, but we are not fluent.
Not quite up in the nose bleed section but Cuernavaca is know a s the city of eternal spring. (La cuidad de la primavera eternal)
It will get a little chilly at this time of year as the elevation is 3000 ft as I recall. It climbs to 3000 meters (El Cumbre) between there and Mexico city and then drops into DF.
There is a pyramid there although I did`nt make it , they say it`s a must see.
What a fabulous place…….the only thing I missed was the Ocean. I stayed at the Casino de la Selva. I believe it was Lazaro Cardenas that banned Casinos some 80 years ago but that place still stands and is very colonial.
I will never forget the ride down the winding hwy and the lights that give Cuernavaca away. What a sight at night!

My husband is planning a second honeymoon for us to Mexico?
He wants me to choose where. I’d love to go back to Cuernavaca but I don’t know where to choose. I want us to go somewhere that is close to ancient ruins. The view is amazing from the top of pyramids and my husband has never been…Any suggestions?
I’ve seen the reality…I went Cuernavaca when I was 16 as a service trip…But this time I want to go someplace like Cancun or Acapulco…I just need to know which places are near ruins…
Go to the Mayan, you can see the ruins there. Hotel suggestion for your second honeymoon………try the El Dorado Royale, it’s on Punta Brava Beach, they have Gourmet all inclusive YUM! beach dinners, 24 room service and is soooo romantic. Premium suites are set away from the rest, they are one storey, large, and they fill your suite with flowers, gourmet snacks and wine on your arrival, our jacuzzi was filled with rose petals and bubbles when we arrived……..
My New favourite!!

how can I defeat the smell of the humidity?
I live in Cuernavaca, México, the place of the eternal spring, though when is rain season my home turns it into a fungus kingdom, I have waterproofed the roof but I can still get the odor and the feeling of humidity away, I have tried with baking soda sprinkled all over the house, but it didn’t work. Any suggestion?
Buy a dehumidifier.
Do you have Sears?

Can anyone give a me a ballpark cost of living for a single male in mexico?
The main place I’m looking at is Guadalajara, perhaps Cuernavaca or others (I’m open to suggestions) if that’s where your knowledge lies.
And I mean living, (possibly as an english teacher) Not traveling.
I’m not looking to live extravagantly, just have enough for the necessities plus a little extra for entertainment, cultural exploration and possibly small emergencies.
Basically a small 1 room apartment sort of deal in decent condition w/ kitchen and plumbing.
No car, just walking and public transit.
Fresh food diet.
Hi. I live in Guadalajara, and I am a teacher as well. My rent, cable, water, and electricity is about $500 US a month. I live in a small 2 bedroom apartment in a small neighborhood about 10 minutes by bus from the school. You will be fine on a teacher’s salary. I go out every weekend, buy new clothes once in a while, and do girlie things like pedicures and manicures. I’m even adding to my saving account each paycheck. If you work at the American School, you will be VERY comfortable.
