Mexico’s Killing Fields
Verifying your email address with Paypal
When you sign up for an account with Paypal, you have to verify an email address with them. However, this particular message that you receive from Paypal may be flagged by many email system filters as a phishing scam and quarantined. Thus, you won’t see it in your regular email inbox although you can receive other email messages from Paypal. You may not see the message in your mail client’s junk folder, either, on your local machine. All ISPs employ their own spam filtering of some type, in addition to whatever spam filtering software you may have installed locally on your PC or Mac. Most people read email that passes through their ISP from Outlook or Apple Mail (or some other program) on their local machines. Thus, the verification email from Paypal may be trapped by a filter at your ISP. Almost all ISPs these days have a web interface for email. If you cannot find your email message to validate your Paypal account on your local machine, login to the web interface for email that is provided by your ISP and look in the quarantine folder there. You will no doubt find the mysterious missing email from Paypal and will be able to verify your account as usual. It is awful to be all set up for business with your dropshipping wholesalers only to be unable to confirm your Paypal account to receive payments from customers!
