Know Your State’s Lemon Law

Nearly all states have a Lemon Law, a law to backup the manufacturer’s written warranty which comes with the car. The extent of responsibility and liability differs extensively from different states, so be sure to know the lemon law in your state. The term Lemon pertains equally to a defective car as to a citrus fruit. Essentially, the California Lemon Law makes the manufacturer of a car accountable for the proper functioning of the car during the warranty period. You as the owner of the car have responsibility for proper maintenance of the car. However, assuming you have properly maintained the car and still have problems with the car, you have rights, and it’s to your benefit to know your state’s lemon law.
