Mexico’s Killing Fields
Driving from Laredo, TX to Cuernavaca, MX….where would you stop for the night?
What areas/towns are safe and appropriate for us to stop in. I know Monterrey has a lot of hotels, but we would like to get further than that on the first day, if possible.
Any recommendations?
I would stop in San Luis Potosi, which is just about at the halfway point.
SLP is large enough to have lots of hotels, restaurants, and interesting sites to keep you busy, but it’s small enough to be non-intimidating and easy to navigate.
There are some outstanding restaurants along V.Carranza — places with colonial atmosphere, top-notch service, affordable and best of all…DELICIOUS!
There’s some great colonial era churches downtown, and if you’re into modern art, I *highly* recommend the Museo Federico Silva — it’s a beauty!

How do i introduce my little chihuahua into a home with a cat?
I just got a baby girl chihuahua and i already have a small cat. The chihuahua is a lot smaller then the cat. How do I introduce the two so they can become friends?
My Chi’s grew up with 2 adult male cats. JUst let them meet and keep an eye on them for a while. You’ll know if there’s an issue. It’ll depend on the cat. They’ll probably end up playing together within the hour. They’ll either ignore each other or they’ll follow each other around and sleep together sometimes and play together.

I don’t know what a regular website is. Where in Mexico? Airfare only, or a package?

What happens after proteins travel from Golgi apparatus to lysosomes?
Proteins travel from ER to Golgi to lysosomes. What happens to proteins when they go into lysosomes?
The transport vesicles from the ER fuse with the cis face of the Golgi apparatus (to the cisternae) and empty their protein content into the Golgi lumen. The proteins are then transported through the medial region towards the trans face and are modified on their way. Possible modifications include glycosylation or phosphorylation. The proteins are also labelled with a sequence of molecules according to their final destination.
The transport mechanism itself is not yet clear; it could happen by cisternae progression (the movement of the apparatus itself, building new cisternae at the cis face and destroying them at the trans face) or by vesicular transport (small vesicles transport the proteins from one cisterna to the next, while the cisternae remain unchanged).
Lately, it is also proposed that the cisternae are interconnected and the transport of cargo molecules within the Golgi is due to diffusion, while the localisation of Golgi resident proteins is achieved by an unknown mechanism.
Once the proteins reach the trans face, they are embedded into coated transport vesicles and brought to their final destinations. The form of the vesicle is determined by the type of protein and the label it acquired.
An example of the Golgi complex’s functioning is the modification of glycoproteins (used in cell membranes). Vesicles from the ER contain simplified glycosylated proteins. In the Golgi Apparatus, carbohydrates are attached and removed from these glycoproteins, creating a diversity of carbohydrate structures on the proteins. After they have been secreted in to the cell the vesicles fuse to the cell membrane and release their contents.
As well as protein modification, Golgi apparatus is involved in the transport of lipids around the cell as well creating lysosomes — organelles involved in digestion.

What is the cheapest way to travel around Japan?
I am studying Japanese and want to travel around Japan for a couple of months visiting Kyoto, Tokyo and Osaka, and various other places. However, travelling in japan always seems to be very expensive when I google it. I am a student (in the UK) and therefore on a tight budget. Where are the cheapest places to stay/eat? Cheapest flights and domestic travel?
The cheapest way to travel, is the "shoe leather sedan"

How can I get my chihuahua to eat this food?
I recently took my dog to the vet, because of a loss of appetite. My vet prescribed IVD Duck Formula Canned Food, to make it easier on his digestive system. He also told me to feed him Royal Canin 28 Mini Chihuahua dry food, which he loves. The problem is, he won’t touch the soft food. Would it help to mix the dry and the wet together? What can I do to get him to eat at least some of the wet food?
the trick to get a dog to switch foods is to slowly switch foods start off slowly adding more wet food in with the orignal not giving more food than you are told to eventually you will get to the point where you are just feeding him wet food best of luck!!!!!

What do I need to know about Cuernavaca, Morelos?
My best friend and I are going down to Mexico this summer for a month. We are staying with her aunt and uncle in Cuernavaca. I was wondering what I needed to bring, where are good places to go, things to do, etc, for two sixteen year olds in Mexico. We can speak a little Spanish, but we are not fluent.
Not quite up in the nose bleed section but Cuernavaca is know a s the city of eternal spring. (La cuidad de la primavera eternal)
It will get a little chilly at this time of year as the elevation is 3000 ft as I recall. It climbs to 3000 meters (El Cumbre) between there and Mexico city and then drops into DF.
There is a pyramid there although I did`nt make it , they say it`s a must see.
What a fabulous place…….the only thing I missed was the Ocean. I stayed at the Casino de la Selva. I believe it was Lazaro Cardenas that banned Casinos some 80 years ago but that place still stands and is very colonial.
I will never forget the ride down the winding hwy and the lights that give Cuernavaca away. What a sight at night!
